The Royal Danish Embassy in Dar es Salaam is seeking to recruit two Programme Officers to support Denmark’s Strategic Sector Cooperation. We are looking for candidates who are flexible, detail oriented, diligent and team players, with experience from the relevant sector.

Building on Denmark’s long-standing partnerships with Tanzanian authorities, civil society, universities and private sector, the Embassy of Denmark is exploring the opportunity to establish two individual technical cooperation projects between a) the Danish and Tanzanian Health Ministries, and b) the Danish and Tanzanian Tax Agencies, with the aim to establish alliances that can contribute to shared expertise and experiences, as well as knowledge exchange on modes of regulation, planning, enforcement and implementation.

The candidates will support the analytical work required in the feasibility phase of the projects and support the process to design a future project in close collaboration between Tanzanian and Danish ministries and agencies.

Main tasks and responsibilities of Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) Programme Officers:

  • Analyse and report on political, social and economic developments of relevance to the sector
  • Arrange, participate and report on meetings with relevant local and international stakeholders

    Required qualifications:

  • Relevant academic Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Good analytical skills and interest in relevant policy areas

  • Fluency in English.

    Desired qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working in relevant policy areas, e.g. in a government body, think tank, research organization or implementing agency.

We offer:

  • An exciting, inter-cultural and dynamic work environment with a wide range of diverse tasks
  • Great opportunities for further development of your professional and personal competences
  • A large degree of self-dependence
  • Competitive salary and benefit package.

    Employment conditions:
