General Policies

Danidas development aid in Tanzania, as well as in the rest of the world, is based on the strategies and priorities set forth by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Development in African countries

The document that guides the development assistance is the new strategy ”The Right to a Better Life” from May 2012 that replaced the old strategy from 2010 "Freedom from Poverty, Freedom to Change".
You can download "The Right to a Better Life" in the right side menu.

To supplement the strategy, the Danish government has developed specific priorities for development assistance.

Anti-corruption

Within the last decade there has been an increasing recognition that corruption poses a substantial obstacle to development in developing countries. Like many other donor countries Denmark has decided to make the fight against corruption a top priority in Danish development cooperation.
